The Knox District has the unique ability to connect seamlessly with the vibrant urban metropolis while staying true to its historic roots. It has evolved into more than just another trendy Dallas destination; Knox Street is a place with a heart and soul and where the history of the neighborhood is embraced.
HISTORY &
LEGACY
At the prominent Knox and Travis corner, the goal was to create a new office-oriented mixed-use development, preserve the existing façade of the cherished Highland Park Soda Fountain building and appropriately integrate the two.
Weir’s Plaza is a collaboration between the Weir family and their development partner, Four Rivers Capital. The Weir family watched as businesses came and went since the 1940’s and they’ve remained commitment to seeing the Knox neighborhood thrive. As the longest property owners still in residence, the Weir family is profoundly faithful to the Knox District legacy.
The dynamic and thoughtful mixed-use development was the first of its kind in the rising Knox District neighborhood. The building was designed with brick and limestone accents and is purposely understated and classic, ensuring it integrates perfectly with the surrounding architecture, like the iconic Highland Park Soda Fountain building that borders Weir’s Plaza. The Highland Park Soda Fountain (originally the Highland Park Pharmacy) building was preserved and restored through the help of our project architect, GFF, and historical preservation specialist, Architexas.
